One Festival Down, 6 To Go...

Last weekend, accompanied by my mom and some new tent walls, we vended at our first weekend long festival and it went pretty well.
It was on the Green on Hyannis Main Street and the weather was perfection.
We were only allowed to sell our Crystal Dreamcatchers at this one because so many other people did jewelry, blah blah blah, etc. BUT, it was a good learning experience to see just how much jewelry we do sell and if it draws people in and the like.
What I learned was, yes, our jewelry matters.
I'm not saying we didn't make any money, because we did, but I think we would have had more sales if the jewelry was out as well (and if I was more prepared).
Jewelry takes up probably a third of our display space and at the festivals we have participated in the past, I was used to having dreamcatchers and jewelry on display so I figured 40 dreamcatchers was enough.
It wasn't enough.
I sold a good amount and I kept re-arranging to keep the table/tent looking full but after awhile, it was no use.

I also believe that there was too much white.
It looks clean and nice but I think it lacked interest.
Maybe, if I use walls again during the day, I will change up the table cloth to a patterned one or add some interest to the ground with a blanket/rug.

But enough negatives.
All in all it was a great experience and a good way to kick off our festival summer season.
Next one is 4th of July weekend and I want to have 60 dreamcatchers done for that one so my fingers will probably fall off before this is all over.

Mama + me
Weaves and words

So now its on to the next one...
and the next and the next and the next + 2 more!
Taking a vacation/hiatus in a little less than a month with my dude and going up to Portland, ME for a few days. Excited for a little RnR in my favorite city.

Until next time.
I'll be weaving till my fingers go numb.
Lets do iiiiiit!

iPhone Shoot ..cuz why the F@%$ not?!

Notice the new header?
Well lately I've been itching to do a photoshoot for my jewelry and I just haven't decided how or who to do it with, etc.
So today I was just like "Fuck it." and did a shoot with me, myself, and my iPhone.
I guess I was half inspired by rummaging through my closet, which is filled with a gajillion cool pieces I never wear enough.
With rummaging came a huge purge and I got rid of like 40 things.
All the while, Ethan is sitting on the bed, playing video games, and shaking his head at me in disbelief that my closet still looks full after subtracting the 40 items.
Hey, a girl's gotta shop sometimes.

So anyway, it was fun!
Here's some of my favorite shots....
Serenity necklace, Aventurine Powerstone necklace, + Siren earring
Gold Orion choker, Serenity necklace, + Siren earring
Wanderer necklace, Moon Dreamer necklace, + Wolf Mother Earrings

Mermaid earrings + Citrine Powerstone necklace

Till next time!
See ya.

It's gonna be May

...and this year is just moving right along.
I can't believe we are almost halfway through 2016 and summer is right around the corner.
Soon the Cape will be flooded with tourists and craziness and I won't be able to drive, like, anywhere and the beaches will be crowded and things will become more expensive...
But we rely on those people blinkering and never turning, sweating next to you as they bake their lobster bellies in the sun,  and buying up all the good stuff to the point where businesses jack their prices to make more money because thats just how the Cape Cod economy survives.

Let's talk fests
But summer also brings good stuff! Like outdoor festivals! And we have a few to do this year!
Last year we kicked butt at LoveLocal Fest and can't wait to return this year with new stuff and good vibes. We will be there July, September, and then later on in December for the Holiday Edition.
We also added the Pinehills Festival to our list this year.
We will be up in Plymouth slinging weaves and gems in July, August, and September!
New stuff and displays are in the works and I can't wait to get out there and start hanging with all you Dreamweavers again!

So what's new?...
So in the last LUNA.SOL post I mentioned that we did a gallery opening at ByWay Barber + MOLA Gallery in Falmouth, MA.
Here are some pics from that event:
Setting up the big dreamcatchers on the main wall
#selfie (notice Ethan's head coming out of the side of mine haha)
The entire jewelry display as well as our 3" baby weaves
A pic from the opening. It was PACKED!
All of our collections were on display for about 2 months alongside some other very talented artists.
We will be returning to ByWay Barber + MOLA Gallery in the summer for a big collaborative show and we can't wait!

Also we are participating in the silent auction to benefit the Scargo School during their Spring Fling on May 22nd.
I'm in the process of making a beautiful dreamcatcher for this wonderful, local school.

Shop Update!
I just updated the shop this afternoon with some new weaves of all sizes.
We got some Amethyst in a few weeks ago and it looks so gorgeous on our dreamcatchers and we have some jewels in the works as well.
A new collection is coming!
We've been working on some protective gems for some of your favorite "people".
Sneaky peeks will be coming soon so make sure you're following our Instagram (@shopdreamsongs)

Sacred Space

Happy Spring Equinox!
Apparently we are gonna get a "snowstorm" over night. I guess that's what we get for living in New England.

It's been almost 3 years since Ethan, Jeff, and I moved into our condo.
We still rely on storing things behind the sofa.
We have finally organized one of our two storage closets. One closet belongs to Dreamsongs and the vacuum and the other closet holds extra shoes, tools, some coats, a sweet vintage bedspread I keep forgetting I have, car stuff, golf clubs, a fishing rod... oh and a spider is living in there. I haven't had the guts to smush it yet, it seems pretty chill.
We got a dog! His name is Puppy. We did not name him but it's an ongoing joke in my family so I'm sticking with it. He's the sweetest and he loves to cuddle his huge leopard stuffed animal.
For the past 4 months, we have been slowly decorating our condo and making it a home.
I never wanted to buy things for the house in fear that Ethan wouldn't like it.
So we talked about it, and he gave me free reign!
We first started with a few paintings in the living room.
Choosing art was the hardest part. We disagreed on everything.
We finally both fell in love with Mark Adlington.
"Pack Leaders 2001" and "Talons - White Tailed Sea Eagle" by Adlington
and our new book shelf because Ethan has a shit-ton of books!
The book shelf was our next step. This wall was so bare and this really filled it in, plus I was able to clean out the two crates if books Ethan had in the closet.
So this began our animal motif throughout our living room (+ Star Wars. Always.)
Using a Budweiser mini fridge for a table. Perfect.
Autographed Patriots footballs, Al Pacino, Marilyn, 1930's celestial book pages,
Boba Fett (painted by me!), Ethan's degree,
and a 1930's post card of the Sphinx after it was excavated!
Yesterday, I put one of the bigger final touches on our living room by updating the mantle and fire place. Before, we had a long line of Ommegang Game of Thrones craft beer bottles going across the mantle and nothing in front of the fireplace.
I went to Christmas Tree Shops yesterday with mi madre in search of curtains and new throw pillows and walked out with everything but that.
Snagged some sweet gold antler candle holders for $6 each,
A pretty glass ombre vase/candle holder for $9,
Black pillar candle holders for $8 each,
And all the candles!
Don't you just love a bargain?!
When we got up to the cash register my mom offered to pay for it.
So thanks again, mama! Love you!
My new favorite little table.
This is in our kitchen, but whatevs.
Next step is decorating the half bath and continue to convince Ethan that we should paint the cabinets in the kitchen black. I don't know if he will ever agree with me but I'm not giving up yet!

In other news, I'm dropping a new necklace in the shop this week!
The Siren Necklace should be up by the end of this week as well as new weaves!
Our 1 year anniversary is coming up on April 2nd
(I didn't want to open on April Fool's Day) and we can't wait!

Until next time...

2016 » Hello. + A Look Back at our "First" Year

Happy New Year!

2015 seriously flew by and I can't even call it our "first year in business" because we've only been "open" for 8 months!

But in those 8 months we accomplished a lot...
◊ Sold over 100 pieces
◊ Participated in 3 local festivals
◊ Shipped to 3 countries
◊ Acquired our first retail account
◊ And we are profitable!

So I am very happy to end this year on a good note.
Some of the orders from Black Friday weekend
The holiday season brought us lots of new experiences.
We had our first Black Friday Weekend sale and had 20% off store wide.
It was so fun to sit down and pack up all the orders we received. It nearly wiped out the shop!
We also joined forces with The Wild Unknown and hundreds of other small businesses for the Good Karma Sale.
Over the Black Friday Weekend, as well as running our 20% off sale, 20% of all of our sales went towards our annual Toys for Tots: Stuff a Bus benefiting kids all across Cape Cod.
Because of you, we were able to purchase a sweet Barbie bike and a badass Darth Vader bike, too!
Then after that was a non-stop hustle because we had a festival that following weekend.

It was SO busy and crazy and a little chilly.
Thankfully we had the booze to keep us warm.
Props to Stacey Hedman for catchin' the cheeze of all cheezin smile on my face

So in conclusion,
Thank you. All of you.
You're support and love this past year has been insane
+ I'm so happy to bring Dreamsongs into 2016.
